THE LEADERSHIP JOURNEY
We are all leaders. A few of us seem to be gifted with instinctive leadership skills. Most of us will admit that we had to learn our leadership lessons from mentors, life experience and sheer necessity. The Leadership Journey seeks to provide some of the basics of leadership skills and perceptions that would assist new and developing leaders to be confident about their role and responsibility. 1. NLP for Effective Communication (All Levels)
Neuro-linguistic Programming(NLP) is an enabler that assists individuals to be more effective when communicating. The outcome of this programme is that individuals will have the ability to be more receptive as well as, to have more impact with their communications. 2. Personal Alignment – Personal Mission: Self-Discovery (All Levels)
This intervention provides a simple technique to assist individuals to become aware of their own deeply held values, begin integrating their values and their behaviours and, determine what would be their unique mission that would give deeper meaning to their life. The desired outcome would be individuals with greater confidence and self direction, able to take charge of their personal life journey with greater maturity and integrity. 3. First Steps in Management / Supervisory Development
This programme provides the basic steps of supervision and management for the new managers – introducing the balance of task, team and individual, as well as, the concept and practice of coaching staff for improved performance. The individuals who complete this programme will be better able to take on the task of management and have greater confidence working with their staff, providing coaching and guidance. 4. Coaching for Improved Performance (Executive/Managerial Level)
This programme is designed to provide managers with the skills necessary for them to be effective coaches able to draw the best performance from their staff. A tested approach to coaching will be shared, and practice via simulation will be encouraged. The outcome would be managers who are more able to use coaching to encourage their team, and a means to reach out to the staff who are performing below expectations to provide them necessary guidance..
